To prevent harmful noise to members, and wildlife disruption.
DEFINITION OF Noise Pollution
Not all sound is considered noise pollution. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines noise above 65 decibels (dB) as noise pollution. To be precise, noise becomes harmful when it exceeds 75 decibels (dB) and is painful above 120 (dB). As a consequence, it is recommended noise levels be kept below 65 (dB) during the day and indicates that restful sleep is impossible with nighttime ambient noise levels in excess of 30 (dB).
Quick Summary. Noise pollution, also called “environmental noise,” is any unwanted or disturbing sound that affects the health and well-being of humans and other organisms. Noise is the second largest environmental cause of health problems, just after the impact of air pollution.
PROVISIONS:
1a- Disturbing the peace is prohibited. Quiet hours start:
1b- Sunday – Thursday at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
2- Any noise exceeding 70 (dB) is considered disturbing. Residential limits usually start at 60 or 55 (dB) {the equivalent noise of a regular vacuum cleaner}. Time limits usually apply after 10 p.m. and until 8 a.m.
Camelot Forest reserves the right to enforce the above provisions and impose special fines to the property owners after notice and opportunity to be heard (250.00 first offense, $500.00 second offense, $1,000.00 third offense)
